School to School Support

Lucie Childs – Geography & Foundation Curriculum

Lucie is currently an Achievement Leader in her home school where she able to support other schools in our local area, allowing her to share expertise of good practice through coaching, modelling and mentoring of colleges. Lucie has worked in schools for over 13 years and has a wealth of experience in education. Lucie has also had the opportunity to mentor and coach NQTs and student teachers and support them with their development in education. It is important to Lucie that education is inclusive and that children are at the heart of everything that we aim to achieve.

Hayley Nye – Science and Teaching & Learning

Hayley is currently the Deputy Headteacher at Dilkes Academy and has worked with many colleagues in her own school and trust to share expertise about teaching and learning. Hayley has also worked with many schools in our local area to develop and support teaching and learning and science. Hayley has experience of coaching, modelling and mentoring others. Hayley is one to the Science Subject Leaders in her school and has successfully achieved the PSQM Gilt Award for the second time and is also a STEM facilitator for SETSA. She is very enthusiastic about her own and other professional development. Hayley has carried out many action based research projects over the years which has enabled her to further share her expertise during outreach work. Currently Hayley is the lead teacher for an ENTHUSE Project Partnership with DP World and STEM aiming to increase the career aspirations of pupils in the STEM industry.

Kirsty Robinson – Maths

Kirsty is Assistant Headteacher at Quarry Hill Academy, SLE mathematics lead and Year 6 lead. She supports teachers in developing their leadership skills as well as teaching and learning across all year groups.

As a maths lead, Kirsty’s recent focuses have involved coaching others on: the effective use of concrete resources, prompting mathematical thinking through questioning and developing verbal and written mathematical reasoning skills. Kirsty has recently been awarded a Master’s distinction in Primary Education (Mathematics) and begun her PhD, within which she will be focusing on special educational needs and the use of assessment in mathematics.

Kirsty has led successful change within the trust, which has only increased her passion to improve children’s wellbeing and education across the curriculum. Kirsty believes all children are entitled to an outstanding curriculum, achieved through creating active, engaging and collaborative lessons; she thrives on supporting teachers in creating this safe environment.

Kristie Bradding – EYFS leader for Catalyst Academies Trust 

Kristie is a passionate and motivated practitioner who has worked in a range of positions throughout Primary Education (from birth to 11 years). She has 10 years teaching experience in EYFS, KS1 and KS2 and currently leads as an Assistant Head Teacher in EYFS.  

Kristie works closely with all schools across the trust, supporting to build a strong EYFS network where staff regularly share best practise, holding a mutual belief in the importance of early child development. She works closely alongside the SENCo to ensure that children within EYFS are identified early, to allow for greater support as they move into KS1.   

Kristie’s aim is to ensure that within any of the schools that she is working with, there is an awareness of the importance of early educational experiences, and that all pupils are given the opportunity to thrive.  

Stacie Weller – Primary Foundation curriculum & KS2

Currently a Deputy Headteacher at Quarry Hill Academy, Stacie has been teaching for over 13 years in Key Stage 2 and predominantly in Year 6 where she has developed a range of strategies for high engagement and high impact teaching. One of the things she loves to develop in the children she teaches are high aspirations and the motivation to improve on their own abilities, developing a sense of pride and purpose in everything they do.

Stacie loves working collaboratively to share ideas and implement strategies for success and since working for the Catalyst Academies Trust she has had the opportunity to mentor student teachers, offer support across the trust and has recently been facilitating training for recently qualified Early Career Teachers. This year, she has also started to work towards achieving her NPQSL to further increase her leadership skills within the Catalyst Academies Trust.

Tracy Hart

Tracye is currently teaching in Year 6. Her teaching experience has taken in the full range of primary age with the most time spent in year 6. Tracy is passionate about teaching and supporting children to have the very best opportunities possible. As such, she fully understands, and promotes, the role of effective learning skills which requires a very consistent approach to behaviour management to fully support the development of these. Day to day routines and organisation are embedded to maximise learning opportunities whilst supporting/ modelling good learning habits for pupils and colleagues.

Hollie Watts

Hollie is Assistant Head of EYFS and KS1 at Aveley Primary school and the Year Two lead. After training as a secondary English teacher, Hollie moved to primary with the aim of ensuring that all pupils leave primary school with the reading and writing skills to be able to be successful in life. She has experience of teaching in KS1 - KS5 and understands how the early skills are vital to build upon as pupils go through their education. 

Hollie is passionate about ‘reading for pleasure’ and believes that every child can read, and enjoy it, if they are given the correct tools. Hollie implemented ‘Whole Class Reading’, and has built a varied, rich and inclusive reading spine. Working as a Year 6 teacher and being a Key Stage 2 reading marker, has influenced the way that Hollie supports and develops other staff to teach reading.  

After working closely with the English Hub, she has led the implementation of a new phonics scheme, which has enabled the school to meet or be above National Expectations for phonics.  

Dan Scotcher

Dan is currently Deputy Headteacher at Benyon Primary, where he has been part of Catalyst Academies Trust since 2012. He has worked across the school supporting and developing effective teachers particularly students and NQTs. This has been through a number of providers including, Teach Thurrock, Teach First and the school apprenticeship route.    

Throughout his career, Dan has had a clear passion for developing students and early career teachers so that they can become effective practitioners, using and utilising technology, such as IRIS Connect, to share and embed good practice. 

In addition to this, he spent a number of years working in an advisory role for Teach First, helping to support and train new tutors across the East of London. This included supporting mentors in ensuring they developed strong students and supported with more difficult conversations. In the current year, Dan is a facilitator for the ECT programme delivering training.
